Allen Keefer - Charlie Brown - Ron Whitney - Carl Chambers - Jesse Chambers

Back at the beginning of March Y2k, Nancy and I were invited to attend an investiture ceremony at the Bartow Civic Center for our old and dear friend Charlie Brown. In case your not familiar with the term "investiture" (I wasn't) it's basically the ceremony in which a judge receives his/her robe and gavel. Charlie had been appointed Circuit Court Judge for the Tenth Judicial Circuit of the State of Florida by Governor Jeb Bush. This was after all, why he quit the Starfires in 1966 to attend Law School at the University of Florida.

We were (and still are) very proud of our friend and his success in his chosen field. After all isn't that what we're all after. A star is a star.
