Features: Allen's Historical Cafe: The Music
"When people quit going to town on Saturday
nights, there was no place to go to jam, as they had used the city
park for this up til then, so thirty or more years ago they started
coming down to our place to jam and word spread that they could play
and sing bluegrass and country music here ... so it just sorta became
a meeting place for all musicians who wanted to get together with
others to have a good jam session. The musicians as well as the audience
now feel like they are one big family and the music is as good as
you will hear anyplace. They now play gospel music every Friday night
and the first Sunday afternoon here."
