Allen's Historical Cafe - Picker Profile

Marvin Roosevelt (Boots) Eubanks was born on December 22, 1918 near Athens, in Limestone County, Alabama. He always said that the first song he ever sang on stage was "Old Shanty Town" which he first performed as a 10-year-old schoolboy in Alabama. He continued to include that song in almost every show he ever performed.

Boots was one of about a half-dozen regulars that performed every Thursday night at Allen's Cafe unless they were sick or out of town. He was a big fan of Jimmy Rogers, Gene Autry and Hank Williams and opened almost every show with his theme song , Autry's "Back in the Saddle Again".

Boots was one of the original members of the Dizzy Ramblers and he continued to perform under that name until his death in 1991.
