Boggy Creek
Bluegrass was formed by Kissimmee residents Carl and Hazel Young in the late
1970's. The band performed at bluegrass festivals throughout central Florida
and were well known regulars at Carl Allen's Cafe on Thursday nights. The
band performed traditional bluegrass as well as original numbers. The highlight
of many Thursday night performances was "The Legend of the Rebel Soldier."

Carl had formerly worked with Chubby Anthony and Tall Timber Bluegrass as a guitarist and lead singer. His wife, Hazel is a great stand-up bass player. She has worked with many local bluegrass bands and is well known for her sunny personality.
Many fine sidemen have worked with Carl and Hazel through the years. A very incomplete list would include; fiddler Tommy Cordele, mandolin players Eddie Jones and D.L. Cuthbertson, guitarist Duke Burr, and banjoists Johnny Cambell and Joe Spann.
