1958-64
Played clarinet in the Auburndale High School stage and marching bands.
1961-63
Played guitar in first rock and roll band, The
Dynamics.
Worked dances and shows in Central Florida.
1964-68 Played
guitar for Ron
(Whitney)
& The Starfires,
one of Central Florida's premier rock & R&B garage bands of the
60's. Worked one-nighter dances and shows throughout the southeast US.
1968-69 Played guitar for Orlando
based, We
The People, replacing Tommy Talton who left the group to form
"Cowboy".
1970-73 Put together an eight-piece
horn band, Raintree
County, with singer Willie Metts, did mostly dances and some shows
in Central Florida.
1974-77 Put together the first Dizzy
Rambler Band and wrote first songs. Tried to find places that
would allow performance of original material.
1978-79
Played guitar in the studio and on the road for The
Bellamy Brothers and did intense touring, both nationally and
internationally. Realized people made money writing songs. Wrote more
songs.
1980-83 Put together the band, Southern
Honey, fronting lounge and concert shows around the southeast,
promoting the single release, "Take
Me Home With You" and Alabama's release of "Close
Enough To Perfect".
1984-85 Joe Spann, Nancy and Carl,
under the name Dizzy
Rambler Band, perform in Skeeter's (Big Biscuit) Restaurants and
seasonally as a bally band outside the Big-Top at Circus
World in Barnum City, FL.
1987-89
The Dizzy Rambler
Band played over 3500 shows at the Boardwalk
& Baseball theme park in Baseball City, FL.
1990-1999 Performing
shows with the Dizzy Rambler
Band when possible and working as an "anything but lounges
for a buck" pick-up musician.
1994-PRESENT Plays lead guitar with
retro-rock band, The
Rogues.
